As the title implies, this recipe is very simple. It’s another crock pot recipe. You don’t have to brown the beef first. I call it pot roast stew because that’s what the taste reminds me of, but this is a pretty simple beef stew either way.
2 lbs beef (chuck roast, stew beef, whatever) chopped
3 large baking potatoes, chopped
2 large white turnips, chopped (can sub more potato)
1 onion, chopped
4 carrots, finely chopped
4 stalks celery, finely chopped
1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 tbsp minced garlic
2 bay leaves
2 tbsp oregano
1 tbsp thyme
3 cups beef broth
In a small bowl, combine flour, salt, pepper.
Add chopped beef to bottom of crock pot. Cover with flour mixture and stir until beef chunks are coated.
Add onion, carrots, and celery to crock pot. Add spices. Add potato and turnip. Add beef broth.
Cook on low for 12 hours. Remove bay leaves. Eat.
